A rough steep climb in some places climbing through different zones of climate, vegetation and wildlife.
Length 4 miles Height 550m
From Craigdarroch, drive north towards Ullapool on A835.
Just past Garve turn left onto A832. On reaching Achnasheen follow signs for Kinlochewe . Trail begins and ends at the car park at the side of Loch Maree about 2.5 miles north west of Kinlochewe. The interesting thing about this particular walk is the predominance of Scots pine - which once virtually covered the whole of the Scottish Highlands. At the highest point on the mountain path there is a view point, providing excellent views of Loch Maree and the surrounding hills.
